Will You Make Him Room?

I know some dismiss blogging as a “silly hobby” or perhaps a strange obsession, but for me, it’s now a way of life. Not only that, but it’s connected me to some amazing people, who I never would have met otherwise. (Well, I might have, but it’s a long shot.) One particular connection I’ve made is “I Still Hate Pickles” blogger Kirsten, but her friends call her Kiki. 🙂 She lives in Texas, has two little ones, and a baby on the way. She’s funny, feisty and completely down-to-earth. And here’s another thing that drew me to her. She follows Christ but isn’t afraid to show her flaws: “I try to live a transparent and authentic life, which means I screw up all the time but attempt to be honest about that. If I didn’t screw up, I wouldn’t need Jesus in the first place.” I love that about her. I also love the new advent devotional she recently released, called “Make Him Room.”

I’ll begin this devotional with my family tonight, and am eager to establish this tradition in our home. If you’d like to join in, simply download the e-book here.

This season, take some time to stop the hustle and bustle, remember the reason, and Make Him Room.

We may all have heard the real message of Christmas, but are you really hearing it? It is so easy for us to get lost in the hustle and bustle of holiday stuff, but Jesus wants you to make room in your heart for him. This series of daily devotions from December 1 to December 25 matches up Old Testament prophecy with New Testament fulfillment about Jesus. With a bite-sized reflection and a handful of discussion questions, this devotional will work for the family around the dinner table or for your personal time alone with God.

This season, will you make him room?

Now, I need to go get started on that toilet-paper roll advent calendar. I’m a little behind…

Mine won’t look this pretty. (image from xtremeteambeauty.blogspot.com)
