New Mom No-Nos: Things Not to Say to or Ask a New Mom

I have several friends who’ve had babies recently, and I’d like to help them a little by “educating” the general public about new mom etiquette. 🙂 (This was written shortly after I had my second daughter.)

  1. I remember an article in the LA Times about the fact that there are a lot of people out there who think it’s appropriate to touch pregnant bellies. Even if they belong to perfect strangers. Your list falls into that same area of things that really aren’t appropriate.

    1. Yes, I wasn’t a fan of people touching my belly, although not many did. I think most people have good intentions, and just aren’t sure what else to say. 🙂

  2. What I hate is when I get asked if my 4 month old is my grandson. It usually happens at Walmart, and I think the cause is my hot older and graying husband. I don’t look a day over 25. Well, maybe a day or two at the most! Anyway, NO, he’s NOT my grandson!! Grrrr!
