Sydney Paige: Backpacks that Give Back
I know, I know, it’s a weird time of year to talk about backpacks. I mean, shouldn’t that wait until the beginning of the school year? Well, maybe, but if your kids have been out of school for any more than 2.5 days, you’re already thinking about sending those little stinkers sweethearts back to school. Sure, I was ready for the school year to end, but now that my girls have been home together with hours upon hours of unstructured time, I know I’ll be ready to send them packing come August. And by packing, I just mean back to school. I’m not kicking them out or anything, geesh!
Here’s the deal. I can joke and kid about my kids being around and being a pain, but I love them. So, so much. And I can’t imagine what it’s like for parents who are in the same boat as me, but don’t have a paddle. That is, they don’t have the resources they need to make ends meet. Maybe summer meal programs are their saving grace, and maybe when it’s “back to school” time, it’s “back to stress” time because they know they won’t be able to afford school supplies.
That’s where Sydney Paige comes in, a great company who was kind enough to send a couple of their products my way in exchange for an honest review. I’m very picky about backpacks, and I can tell you, these are well made. They come in a variety of sizes, with fun category names like Little Learners, Young Explorers, World Changers and Difference Makers. My girls are going into grades K and 2nd, so they each have a Young Explorer backpack, which is big enough for full-size folders, but doesn’t swallow them up. There are plenty of pockets, compartments, and accessory hooks, and ample padding in the straps, plus a chest clip for added support.
And here’s the best part. Not only is your little lad or lass getting a well-made backpack, but another child who’s less fortunate is too. That’s right! When you buy one backpack from Sydney Paige, they donate another one exactly like it PLUS it’s loaded with school supplies! And you can even designate which organization they send it to! I didn’t feel right about taking these backpacks without other children benefiting, so I purchased one to give, and chose to send it to the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas.
When it comes time to send your little darling back to school, I highly recommend considering buying them a backpack that gives back from Sydney Paige. You’ll brighten the day of a child in need, and feel good knowing you helped contribute to their success in school.
