12 Things I Love About My Friend Tracy on 12-12-12

While everyone’s hoopin’ and hollerin’ about it being 12-12-12, I fear that an important day is being overlooked, my friend Tracy’s birthday. However, Tracy is probably thrilled people aren’t paying attention to her, and is going to turn 50 shades of red (embarrassment) when she sees this post. But, I also know she’ll forgive me, which is one reason why I love her. I’m blessed to know several Tracy’s in my life, and they’re all spelled differently. There’s Tracee, Traci, and Tracy (and probably a Tracey) in there somewhere. 🙂

But this is my “with a Y” friend Tracy. We’ve known each other for many, many years, but didn’t really become friends until we started attending the same Bible study several years ago. So, why do I love her? Let me count all 12 ways:

1. She has an infectious smile. You just can’t help but cheer up a little when she bounces into a room, signature smile on her face.

2. She’s generous. She’s always baking up something delicious and taking it to a neighbor/friend/family member in need.

3. She’s a great mother, and sets a wonderful example for those of us also chasing around little ones.

4. She’s a loving wife, and is always bragging on what a great dad/husband her man is.

5. She loves God, and desires to learn more about his Word and Ways.

6. She’s an amazing housekeeper (yes, you are), and I’m hoping her skills will rub off on me someday.

7. She’s an avid KU basketball fan. No, not avid, crazy fanatic. It’s fun to see her get so worked up about her favorite team.

8. She’s overcome many hardships in her life, but always tries to keep a positive outlook.

9. She’s empathetic, and can’t help but cry alongside her friends that are going through hard times.

10. She’s fun to just hang out with and easy to talk to, about anything. Oh the stories I’ve told this woman…

11. She sets a wonderful example for others through her devotion to running. She wasn’t always a runner, but recently completed a marathon! Rock star!

12. She’ll forgive me (I hope) for turning the spotlight on her on this special day. (I hope, I hope, I hope.) 🙂
